The rumor has swirled for years, but finally we have official confirmation – John Morrison is back with WWE. It was announced on last night’s episode of WWE Backstage that Morrison has a signed a multi-year contract with the wrestling promotion and will appear on WWE the Bump next week.
John won the third season of Tough Enough in 2002 and debuted on television in early 2004. He wrestled with WWE for the next seven years; earning numerous titles including the ECW World Championship, Intercontinental Championship and Tag Team Championship. He left WWE in 2011 citing injuries and creative differences.
After his release, Morrison appeared in the indie circuit as well as larger promotions including Lucha Underground and Impact Wrestling. He also jump-started a moderately successful acting career. It’ll be interesting to see if his acting career is put on hold while he’s with WWE for the (rumored) five years of his new contract.
